Before you book
Can we watch a whole film first?
Yes. Kendall & Steven's highlight film (about four minutes) and Julie & Brent's (about four and a half) play in full on my weddings page.
How far ahead should we book, and what holds our date?
Couples usually book me about six months out, but I'm flexible with dates, so ask even if yours is sooner. A 50% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due on the wedding day.
Who films our wedding, and who edits it?
I film it myself. Story and Legacy add a second videographer, usually a seasoned pro I've worked with before. I keep all the editing in-house.
What happens before the wedding day?
We have a planning call before the wedding, where we set your coverage window. I coordinate with your wedding planner and your photographer for the day itself, and I typically don't come to rehearsals.
Coverage and what you get
How many hours of coverage do we get?
Ceremony is 2 hours, Essentials 6, Story 8 and Legacy 10.
How long is the film, and how many revisions do we get?
Highlight films run 3 to 5 minutes on Essentials and 4 to 6 on Story and Legacy, and Legacy adds a 30 to 60 second social reel. Essentials and Story include one revision, Legacy two. The Ceremony film is your full ceremony, usually 20 to 40 minutes, as a download, plus a shorter cut in your video book, and Legacy includes it.
How do you record the ceremony audio?
Two ways: mics on the groom and the officiant, plus a backup recording on camera. If your church says no to mics on the wedding party, I use the camera's recording. Can we pick the music?
Yes. Send me the songs you want in your highlight film.
Do we get the raw footage?
Not as a rule. If you need a specific piece of footage, ask me and we can talk it through case by case.
How long until we get our film, and how is it delivered?
Usually within two weeks. You get a private gallery link where you can download your film, plus a custom video book with your video loaded in.
Do you fly a drone?
On Story and Legacy, yes, wherever flying is permitted. I'm FAA Part 107 certified, I file any FAA paperwork myself, and flying somewhere restricted generally takes at least a week's notice. Add-ons
Can you film the rehearsal dinner toasts?
Yes. It's an add-on, and Legacy already includes it. The add-on price is with my wedding film pricing.
What if the day runs late?
I can stay. Anything past your package hours is billed by the hour.
Planning an Oxford wedding
Our wedding is on an Ole Miss football weekend. What should we plan around?
I film on fall Saturdays, so ask about your date. Some venues won't host a wedding during a home game at all, Paris-Yates Chapel included. Plan early for your guests' hotel rooms, and expect drone limits near campus on game day. All three are covered, with official sources, in my Oxford home game day notes.
